Booster Sets
Booster sets are systems designed to increase water flow and pressure in situations where the existing mains pressure is inadequate. They are commonly used in high-rise flats, hotels, industrial factories, and outbuildings to ensure sufficient water supply to users.
Typically, a booster set consists of several pumps mounted within a frame, configured to operate either in duty standby or duty assist mode. The main components and features of booster sets include:
- Multiple pumps: Usually arranged vertically or horizontally within the frame.
- Control features:
- Duty Standby: One pump runs while another serves as a backup.
- Duty Assist: One pump runs with others assisting to achieve the desired flow and pressure.
- Pressure transducer: Ensures the desired system pressure is maintained.
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD): Allows pumps to meet various duty points and saves on running costs.
- Common manifold: All pump connections are made to a shared manifold for easy installation.
Booster sets are available in various forms to suit different applications, ranging from small domestic and commercial systems to larger industrial setups. They are designed to provide optimal performance with reliability and economy, maintaining and regulating constant water pressure when needed.
These systems are particularly useful in situations where water companies only guarantee a minimum supply (e.g., 9L/min at 1 bar pressure) to the property boundary. By installing a booster set, users can ensure adequate water pressure and flow throughout their buildings or facilities, even in high-demand or multi-storey situations.
